History
The Archives Association of British Columbia (AABC) was formed in October 1990 when members of the Association of British Columbia Archivists and the British Columbia Archives Council voted to amalgamate the two organizations. The association was incorporated on January 21, 1991. The AABC speaks on behalf of both archivists and archival institutions across the province. As a member of the Canadian Council of Archives, the Association represents archival institutions in British Columbia at the national level. The mission of the AABC is to foster the development of the provincial archival community in order to better preserve and promote access to British Columbia's documentary heritage.
