It contains a spliced-together footage compilation showing various Power Commission operations: mobile 500KW diesel generating unit arrives in Revelstoke, cable-laying barge, boats and shore crew lay underwater line to Thetis & Kuper Islands, island residents celebrate at a picnic, where First Nations dancers perform, power plant construction & tunnel work at Ash River project on Great Central Lake [similar tunnelling shots in Men at Work], continuing through winter, completed Ash River Generating Station and penstock, shots of Chemainus sawmill and new power station.

The item consists of a reel of film footage from ca. 1955 The film primarily shows aerial views in and around the Buttle Lake and Upper Campbell Lake area [Strathcona Park] on Vancouver Island, with ground-level views of land-clearing operations and logged-off or burnt-over areas. The timber was being cleared from the lakeshore to allow for higher water level to be caused by construction of Upper Campbell Dam.

The item is a reel of footage from ca. 1960. It contains miscellaneous scenes along the Columbia River and area during surveys prior to dam construction. Footage includes: seismic crew firing underwater tests in winter, aerial views of the Arrow Lakes and vicinity (proceeding north to Revelstoke) and of the Big Bend of the Columbia, shots of the river, Mica Creek and Duncan Lake dam sites, core-sample drilling, the beached sternwheeler "Minto" and logging of reservoir area.

The item is a release print of an industrial film from 1956-1957. It shows the construction of the Georgia Gas Turbine Generating Station on Bare Point at Chemainus. Footage includes press conference with BC Power Commission general manager Lee Briggs, construction of power plant, cantilever tanker dock and fuel tank farm by Sandwell and Company Ltd., design of turbines in New York and transport operation, arrival of tanker "Oregon Standard" with first load of fuel. There is also a sequence on Vancouver Island communities and industries regarding their demand for electricity.

The item is a release print of an industrial film from ca. 1958. BC Power Commission employees do many jobs essential to the maintenance of electrical service. The film includes footage of snow survey work on central Vancouver Island, a logging crew clearing trees at the edge of a reservoir, work in progress on the water diversion tunnel at Ash River, transmission tower construction, a crew hanging warning markers on power lines, inspection of power lines via helicopter and Spillimacheen generating station. There are also scenes in Fort St. James and vicinity. The film is set within the framework of a simulated interview show on CHEK-TV. Director of administration Garth Griffith and public information officer Jim Bogyo talk with host Keith Cutler.

The item is a composite print of an industrial film. It follows a BC Power Commission crew on a mid-winter transmission line patrol through the Valhalla Range, between Lower Arrow Lake and Slocan Lake. The crew is dispatched from Whatshan Generating Station, using a Sno-Cat oversnow vehicle to reach the line's 6750-foot summit. Includes aerial shots of the mountains and views of Lower Arrow Lake, plus a "whiteout".
