History

The Records Management Branch was established in 1982 to provide records management services to the BC Government. The branch was merged with the Central Microfilm Bureau at the time of its creation.

The branch provided the following services to government: classification of government records, management of records storage services, advisory and training services, and centralized microfilming.

The Records Management Branch was merged with the Provincial Archives in 1989 to form the British Columbia Archives and Records Services.
