In 1930? The Department of Marine and Fisheries split into the Department of Marine and the Department of Fisheries. On March 28, 1969 the Department of Fisheries and Forestry Branch of the Department of Forestry and Rural Development united to form the new Department of Fisheries and Forestry, the fisheries functions of the former Department of Fisheries became the new Fisheries Service.
