Biographical history
The British Columbia government established a County Court registry at Barkerville, in the County of Cariboo, approved and ordered by Order-in-Council #0829-1939, dated 1939 June 21.
All County Courts were merged into the Supreme Court on July 1, 1990.
Custodial history
The volume in accession 83-0898 was in the custody of the Quesnel court registry before being transferred to the Archives. It is unclear where the volume was created, although evidence suggests it was created in Barkerville and transferred to Quesnel at a later date.
Scope and content
The series consists of naturalization indexes arranged chronologically and alphabetically and created under the Naturalization Act (RSC, 1906, Cap. 77).. The first index covers the Cariboo District for June 1914 to September 1929 and the second volume covers the period 1934 to 1955.
