The series consists of records created by the British Columbia Forest Service Engineering Services Division between 1967 and 1970 as part of the Mica Pondage Waterways Improvement Project and Libby Pondage Waterways Improvement Project. These projects involved moving infrastructure and clearing land (mostly timber) in preparation for the flooding of these lands by the Mica dam and Libby dam (forming Kinbasket Lake and Lake Koocanusa respectively).

The series consists of maps and photographs with an index describing each photograph. Maps are annotated, often with reference to the photographs in this series. They document where work took place, where work camps were located, where settlements were located, and how the landscape appeared before the areas were flooded. They also detail some of the preparatory work for the reservoirs, along with the zones that were anticipated to be flooded. Photographs correspond with photographs already in the BC Archives Forest Service Photographs, GR-3426.
