Ker family films

The series consists of 16 mm home movies depicting the home life, special occasions, vacations, and other activities of the R.H.B. (Robbie) and Helen Ker family of Victoria, with particular focus on their children, Vera Elspeth Ker (b. 1928) and David Nation Ker (b. 1929). Much of the footage shows activities at the family homes -- 1524 Shasta Place, Victoria, and "Windover" at Gordon Head in Saanich. The footage was shot by Robbie Ker, and to a lesser extent by his sister, Laura Davida Braide (1898-1976).

Non-family events shown include U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt's visit to Victoria in September 1937; the 1939 Royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth; the return to Victoria of the First Battalion, Canadian Scottish Regiment, January 1946; and the 1951 Royal visit.
