Scope and content
The fonds comprises videotape recordings of the public affairs program "Webster!", which was broadcast by BCTV from 1978-10-02 to 1987-05-01. The fond also includes an name/subject index of guests and topics and an incomplete set of daily line-up sheets.
The list of guests who appeared on the show is a virtual "who's who" from a decade in Canadian public life. Politicians, labour leaders, prominent business people, authors, academics and entertainers were among those interviewed by Jack Webster, a veteran journalist with a reputation for being both tough and fair. A partial list of the show's better-known guests appears below.

Physical condition
All of the recordings are on ¾-inch U-Matic videocassettes, an obsolete format which is known to be prone to deterioration in the form of "sticky-shed", which will inevitably render the tapes unplayable.
Immediate source of acquisition
These recordings were transferred to the Provincial Archives of British Columbia in December 1987 jointly by Jack Webster Productions Ltd. and British Columbia Television Broadcasting System Ltd.
Arrangement
The accession comprises tapes of approximately 1,150 episodes, each 60 or 90 minutes in length. The programs are arranged in chronological order by broadcast date.
