History

Albert Joseph (Al) La Fortune was born in Alberta in August 1894. He was part of the 88th Victoria Fusiliers and in March 1915 he joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Victoria, becoming part of the 48th Battalion from British Columbia (later the 3rd Pioneer Battalion). After the war he helped to form the 48th Battalion C.E.F. Association and was the long time secretary of the Vancouver branch. He died in Vancouver in November 1977.
