SUMMARY: "CBC Tuesday Night" was a multi-part series that featured performances of classical music, opera and drama, as well as readings, documentaries and talks. The series ran from Oct 26, 1965, into the 1970s in the 7:30 to 11:00 p.m. time slot. (Its predecessor of the same format was "CBC Sunday Night".) This episode, "Marius Barbeau: A Tribute to a Canadian Pioneer", features interviews, commentaries by Dr. Barbeau, and materials from the collections held by Keith Macmillan relating to Barbeau's life and work. Includes interviews with Dr. Carmen Roy, Director of the National Museum of Man, as well; as other historians and experts in the area of folk culture and ethnology. Dr. Barbeau's collecting expeditions are also discussed. Contributors include: Dr. Carmen Roy, Dr. Helen Creighton, Edith Fowke, Professor Luc Lecrozier [sp?], Professor Wilson Duff, the Right Honourable Louis St. Laurent, Graham Spry, A.Y. Jackson, and Sir Ernest MacMillan
