The Ocean Falls Corporation was formed in 1973 when the provincial government bought the town of Ocean Falls and its pulp mill from Crown Zellerbach. The mill was closed in 1980 and the corporation was dissolved in 1986.

Scope and content
Consists of subject files relating to buildings, business operations and townsite activities at Ocean Falls. Included are extensive notes and a multi-volume draft history of Ocean Falls and the mill operations, solicited by Crown Zellerbach Canada Limited in 1965, as well as detailed insurance inspection reports, 1936-1939, and townsite agreements for services. A limited number of district lot surveys are included with legal descriptions and survey drawings. Meetings minutes and correspondence for the Ocean Falls Public Library, 1950-1978, and extensive correspondence relating to civil defence strategies during the 1960s are also included.

Immediate source of acquisition
Transferred in multiple accessions by the Ocean Falls Corporation beginning in 1983. The majority of records, however, were transferred in late 1985.
Arrangement
The BC Archives imposed an order upon the records. When items were found in original file folders, the arrangement and file titles were retained.
