Scope and content

The series consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, clippings and photographs on Beacon Hill Park (1921-1935), Mt. Douglas Park (1930-1935) and Walbran Park (1923-1929). There is also a history of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and diary of Frances Barkley; correspondence of Tourist Trade Development Association of Victoria and Vancouver Island, and of its Historic Objects and Natural Features Committee (1930-1941), with correspondence on the grave of Capt. George Vancouver (1935-1937), and with Denys Nelson re Indian fort at Crescent Beach.

Also included are correspondence, articles, notes on tree growth and oddities; documents concerning Fairfield Farm Estate (1910-1935), Frederick George Walker (1890, 1931); mementoes, European War 1914-1918; reminiscences, notes, invitations (1891, 1899, 1936) and notes on experiences as law clerk.
