Special mention is made of Makah Days in the state of Washington. He describes the range of activities at these sports days. TRACK 2: More on sports days. Discussion of his childhood and his becoming a fisherman. He relates his beginnings as a seal hunter and the traditional ritual involved in seal hunting. He talks of the different types of canoes. Mr. Webster discusses the Native tradition relating to the origin of the word Nootka and a story about the enslavement of Jewitt and Thompson by Chief Maquinna.
