History

Don Phillips was born in New Brunswick in 1929. He owned a car dealership in Dawson Creek and was a Social Credit MLA for the South Peace River District from 1966 to 1969 and 1972 to 1986. He was a cabinet minister in the Bill Bennett administration from 1975 to 1986 and held the portfolios of Agriculture (1975-1976), Economic Development (1975-1979), various incarnations of Small Business Development (1979-1985) and International Trade and Investment (1985-1986).

Phillips moved to Australia later in life and died there in October 2016.
