- ItemE-00912 - [Canton, China ] 2) The North East Gate from the ruined houses inside the walls - some little distance from this to the south the attack by the Marines took place, a rush was made along the walls to this gate, it was ours then, vacated by the Chinese, the gates were immediately opened and through them the Artillery entered the houses at that time came close up to the Gate. They have been levelled for the sake of defence.

- ItemE-00914 - [Canton, China] 4. Just inside the entrance door of Howqua' the great Tea Merchants' Gardens at Fa-tee - about 4 miles north west from this on the other side of the river. The offr. [officer] on the steps is the French P.M.O. if you turn to the left on entering you come upon No. 5.
