SUPPLIED TITLE OF TAPE(S): Tom Waterland: Reduces budworm spray area; cabinet cancels programme RECORDED: Victoria (B.C.), 1977-05-10 & 26 SUMMARY: TRACK 1: Forest Minister Tom Waterland announces that the spruce budworm spraying program is still planned for the Fraser Canyon area, but that the proposed spray area has been reduced by 50 percent, 1977-05-10. TRACK 2: Waterland and Environment Minister Jim Nielsen announce that cabinet has decided to cancel the spruce budworm spraying program for 1977, pending the introduction of a new pesticides act. Nielsen says that the new act will include an appeal procedure which is not contained in existing legislation. 1977-05-26.
