Administrative history

The Weyerhaeuser Company was formed in 1900 as the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company, operating as a forest products which grew to have strong representation in West Coast forest lands - particularly in Washington State. The Company also contributed capital to associated firms in the latter half of the twentieth century, such as the Humbird family operations in Chemainus, British Columbia. The company changed its name in 1959 to Weyerhaeuser Company. The company took over the ailing MacMillan Bloedel Company in 1999, marking a major return to British Columbia timber operations
