Scope and content
Photograph depicts the departure of the 103rd Battalion from Victoria. They are onboard the SS Princess Victoria, a CPR ship that connected the capital to the railway station in Vancouver. Despite the rain, crowds of people have gathered at the ship's docks to wish the troops farewell. Some people even climb the barriers for a better glimpse of the soldiers boarding the ship. On top of the captain's cabin is another photographer taking pictures of the troops.
