Photograph depicts a soldier from the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles. The 2nd CMR was raised with volunteers from the ranks of the 30th Regiment, British Columbia Horse. This particular soldier is mounted on his horse on the grounds of Willows Camp. He carries his Ross Rifle slung over his shoulder and secured in a 'bucket' on the side of his saddle. He wears his Service Dress Cap with the chin strap down. This soldier can be seen again in picture J-03398.
