Philip J. Hall was born in Victoria, British Columbia in June 1862. He married Margaret Ann Cullum in 1889. His marriage registration lists his occupation as mechanic. He worked for the British Columbia Salvage Company and was a chief steward on the SS Salvor between 1912 and 1915. He was also a photographer. His last position was as Steward for the Pacific Club and he died in Victoria on September 29, 1931.

William Lashley Hall was born in 1865. A Methodist minister, he served the community of Fernie at the time of the 1908 fire and later moved to White Rock, where he was involved with the Peace Arch. He was also an author who was chosen in 1915 to edit the diaries of Ebenezer Robson.

James G. McKeachie, usually known as Jim McKeachie, was a B.C. sportswriter and public relations specialist. He started out writing for the school newspapers at Victoria High School and Victoria College, and later worked as sportswriter for the Daily Colonist, the Vancouver Daily Province, and the Victoria Daily Times. In the 1950s, he worked in public relations for the BC Power Commission and Crown Zellerbach. He retired in 1986 as director of public relations for Canadian Pacific Airlines.
