Made by Emily Carr as a gift for her sister Lizzie, who was a pious woman. Apparently Lizzie was shocked at the idea of dogs or any one walking on Adam and Eve, she refused the gift. Carr then later gave it to her friend and "listening lady" Flora Hamilton Burns.
