He discusses coming to Vancouver in 1909 and taking up mountaineering for his health. Describes climbing on the North Shore mountains. Creation of Mt. Seymour Park. Detailed story about serious 1939 accident on Goat Mountain, U.S.A., where he sustained serious injuries. Experiences as a mechanic for R. Stark (?), first licenced pilot in B.C. Introduction of pitons and carabineers to B.C. mountaineers. First flying/climbing trips. Formation of the ski section of the B.C. Mountaineering Club. Exploratory climbing in Garibaldi area, north to Wedge Mountain.

SUMMARY: SIDE 1: Highlights of a Saturday afternoon radio show recorded at Shaughnessy Hospital for evening broadcast on CKWX. Format consists of recorded interviews with veteran patients, hospital staff, and; officials of the Mount Pleasant Legion (Branch 177), interspersed with musical requests. This episode includes an interview with patient Ginger Coote, a veteran aviator of World War I and World War I;I, who talks about his experiences as a bush pilot in the Fort Nelson area.
