Aerial Meet at the Willows, June 11, 1919

Item consists of a mount of six photographs on card. Images depict a biplane landing in a field, unidentified women and men at a waterfront, and a biplane floatplane on water. Photographs are numbered 7-12 on the card. Title is also written in pencil on the verso.

The Fraser Valley, British Columbia

The item is an answer print of a travelogue film from 1947-1948. It shows the Fraser Valley from White Rock to Hope, via Vancouver and the Trans-Canada Highway. The film includes footage of: King George VI Highway; White Rock; Peace Arch Park; Canada customs inspection; dairy, poultry and vegetable farming; brickmaking; Stave falls power plant; the Fraser Valley Union Library; Chilliwack Cherry Carnival Parade; Chilliwack Air Show; fishing on Vedder River; Harrison Lake resort; etc. Also shows use of an Avro Anson (registration CF-EKM) to transport live baby chicks by air, and use of a Republic Seabee seaplane to fly in to Chilliwack Lake for an afternoon's fishing.

Compiled from the outs of sundry Parry productions, these rolls include footage of cannery operations, cattle ranching, farming, fishing, a foundry, logging, pipe laying, powerhouse and power line construction (Kemano), sawmilling and shipping. In addition, there are such sequences as an amphibious aircraft landing on a lake and taxiing onto land; a CPA DC-8 airliner taking off and in flight; Kelowna's Royal Anne Hotel; CPR locomotive 374 (retired) at Kitsilano Park; Mission Dam; Okanagan Valley apple blossoms; Rocky Mountain scenery and locales; Stanley Park; a fire in a Vancouver shipyard; and Vancouver's streets, skyline & waterfront. 76.3 has some particularly good mid-1950s Vancouver street scenes (with newsboys hawking papers on busy streets), as well as good footage of the waterfront and docks, various cargoes being loaded or unloaded, etc.

A flying visit to Garibaldi : a story of modern mountaineering

The item is an amateur film. It shows members of the BC Mountaineering Club fly from Jericho Beach, Vancouver, in a Sikorsky S-38 amphibian (Canadian Airways, registration CF-ASO), and land on Garibaldi Lake. Most of the footage depicts the members climbing Mount Garibaldi and resting at the summit.. Returning to the lake, they board the amphibian and fly back to Jericho Beach.
