Scope and content

The file is a photograph album, possibly compiled by Harold T. Nation for the Bureau of Mines in 1927, using photographs taken between ca. 1898 and 1927. It contains 89 photographs showing mines, mining equipment and workers as well as mining landscapes including towns and valleys. Some of the photographs may show trips taken by the Chief Mineralogist and staff. Most of the photographs have captions and other information but the album is not indexed. Some of the photographs in this album may have been used in the Dept. of Mines annual reports.
