History
The Game Commission was established in 1934 and constituted by legislative authority in the following year, replacing the Provincial Game Commissioner. It reported to the Legislative Assembly through the Dept. of the Attorney-General. On April 1, 1957 the Game Commission under the Dept. of the Attorney-General name was changed to the Fish and Game Branch of the Dept. of Recreation and Conservation. In 1966 the Fish and Game Branch changed its name to Fish and Wildlife Branch.
