Scope and content

The series consists of records accumulated by Philip Yandle and his wife, Anne Yandle, and date primarily from the period 1967 to 1977, coinciding with the period in which Philip Yandle was secretary of the British Columbia Historical Association (from 1968 to June 1975). Mr. Yandle was also editor of the British Columbia Historical News (BCHN) from February 1968 (vol. 1, no. 1) until June 1972 (vol. 5, no. 4), and joint editor, with his wife, Anne, from November 1972 (vol. 6, no. 1) until June 1977 (vol. 10, no. 4). Some files relate to the newsletter. The records include correspondence of the British Columbia Historical Association (parent body), branch reports, committee reports, convention-related records, essay contest records, financial reports and membership receipt books.
