History
In 2003 the Kamloops, Cariboo and Nelson Forest Regions were amalgamated to form the Southern Interior Forest Region.
In 2010 it was divided again to create three regions similar to those before the amalgamation. The new regions were: The Thompson Okanagan Region (similar to the old Kamloops Region), the Kootenay Boundary Region (similar to the previous Nelson Region), and the Cariboo Region.
