The item consists of a reel of film footage from ca. 1955 The film primarily shows aerial views in and around the Buttle Lake and Upper Campbell Lake area [Strathcona Park] on Vancouver Island, with ground-level views of land-clearing operations and logged-off or burnt-over areas. The timber was being cleared from the lakeshore to allow for higher water level to be caused by construction of Upper Campbell Dam.

This series consists of reports, studies and data related to the monitoring of water pollution resulting from nearby mining operations in Buttle Lake and the greater Campbell River watershed on Vancouver Island. The records were created by the Water Management Branch, predominantly from 1981-1983. The records relate to short and long term studies on the bioaccumulation and other impacts of heavy metals and mine tailings on the water, sediment, plankton, animals and plants in the lake. The records include final reports, studies, drafts, maps, raw data, water quality reports, notes, correspondence, charts, graphs and tables.

Price Ellison correspondence outward (1903); indentures and certificates re apprenticeship and marriage; letters to Mrs. Ellison from her sons serving overseas during World War I; miscellaneous correspondence and notes by various members of the family; newspaper clippings, pamphlets, journal (typescript) of an exploratory survey trip into the Buttle Lake region kept by H.M. Johnson.

Price and Sophie Ellison lived in Vernon, B.C. Price Ellison was a politician and Sophie Ellison was a school teacher.
