In 1910, Canadian Collieries (Dunsmuir) Ltd. was formed, and purchased Robert Dunsmuir's Wellington Colliery Company Ltd. The purchase agreement included coal rights to the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Company's land grant of 1,900,000 acres. W.L. Coulson was appointed General Manager of operations. The company changed its name in 1957 to Canadian Collieries Resources Ltd.

Company records, 2 volumes. Volume 1: Cash book of coal accounts recording sales and shipments to various companies, 1901-1904. Volume 2: Record book of employees, arranged alphabetically showing nationality, marital status, family size, age, previous employment record, residence, etc., 1918-1925.
