Custodial history

These films were donated to the B.C. Provincial Museum in 1971-08 by Mr. Peter Bently, President of the Canadian Forestry Association in Vancouver. On 1978-10-10, they were transferred from the Museum's Modern History Division to the Provincial Archives of B.C. In 1982, one reel of nitrate film (F1980:260) was de-accessioned and transferred to the National Archives of Canada for preservation. In 1983, the BC Archives was provided with a video copy of that title in exchange for the film.

Scope and content

The ciollection consists of four 35 mm motion picture prints, including films produced by the Canadian Government Motion Picture Bureau and the Ontario Motion Picture Bureau. The four titles include films about sport fishing in Ontario [and B.C.?], wildlife in the Rocky Mountains, and the activities of an Ontario forest fire ranger. A fifth title, "[Douglas Fir]", was de-accessionned and transferred to the Public Archives of Canada.
