Series consists of copies of certificates of improvement forms bound in a book. Each form lists the name of applicant for a pre-emption, the description of the property, and a signature stating that the property has been reviewed. Certificates are dates 12 Apr 1870 to 12 Dec 1873.

This series contains operational records of the Prince George Forest District relating to forest administration, 1919-1981. Records are arranged according to the Forest Service filing system. These records include annual reports, ranger meeting summaries, records regarding timber exports, forest protection, forest reserves, the Peace River hydroelectric projects, the Mica Dam flood basin, land use, timber cruising, silviculture, aerial photography, rights-of-way, timber sales, timber licenses, Public Sustained Yield Units, tree farm licences, and forest wood lot licenses. Also contains construction and maintenance reports pertaining to ranger stations, lookouts, forest roads and trails, boathouses, telephone lines and other Forest Service facilities. Records consist of correspondence, memoranda, reports, licenses, permits, plans, etc.

Alfred Carmichael business records

The series consists of correspondence, minutes, reports and agreements of the Saseenos Water, Light and Power Co., documents pertaining to the B.C. Cariboo district land records

This series contains the records of the Gold Commissioner, Government Agent, and Assistant Land Commissioner, Cariboo District (Quesnel). The records consist of lot registers, certificates of purchase, certificates of pre-emption, registers of pre-emptions (canceled and allowed), registers of land applications and lands purchased, register of leaves of absence granted pre-emption on active service, minute books containing lot register of lands along the route of the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, and registers of hay and pasture land leases. The series also includes townsite registers for Quesnel, Barkerville, and Wells and lot registers for some townships in the Peace River Block. Volumes 89-98 and 153-158 are oversize.

A place to spawn

The item is two reel of film footage of the uncompleted film "A Place to spawn", which was about a sport fishery restoration and enhancement project at Eightythree Creek in the Cariboo region.

Cowan Family records

The series consists of Cowan family records including business records: ledger, 1887-1889, and daybooks, 1889-1892 and 1892-1894, Eagle and Paxton (Onward Ranch); reminiscences and scrapbook of C.G. Cowan re big game hunting, travel in the Yukon, Alaska, and British Columbia, and work as ranch manager and land agent, Kamloops and Cariboo; letters of his wife, Vivien Cowan to a friend, 1964-1970, describing life on the Onward Ranch, painting, artist friends, etc.

Miscellaneous records

The series consists of various records created by King including reminiscences entitled "Trip to California"; a typewritten transcript of a trip from New Brunswick to Quesnel via Panama, 1863-1864, with a brief account of activities in Quesnel in 1865; pocket diary from 1864 containing accounting entries, and under dates March 16-21, an account of a "Trip from Mouth Quesnelle to Big Bend" dated March 25 to April 12; seven letters addressed to "Willie", from R.W. Carrall dated Barkerville, 1867 and 1868; conveyances to W.C. King of interest in Minnehaha and the United Mining Company by R.W. Carrall, 1868.

Journal

The item is a microfilm copy of a journal kept by King of a trip from New Brunswick to California and British Columbia from 1863 to 1865. It also includes several 1873 journal entries, lists of books read, letters sent, expenses and other notes.

Essays and accounts

The series consists of microfilmed transcripts of short essays on various subjects, including the transport and mining industries in B.C., the history of B.C., descriptions of Victoria and other B.C. cities by Cariboo grocer Leonard A. Coton. Also includes accounts of car trips taken by L.A. Coton to the Okanagan, the Cariboo and on Vancouver Island in the 1950s.

Diverse mining records

The series consists of a small group of diverse mining records created between 1864 and 1896 by the Dept. of Mines and its predecessor bodies. It includes declaratory statements (Cariboo district) concerning the partnerships formed, applications for leaves of absence and mining court records from the Omineca district.
