The fonds comprises videotape copies of eight promotional, documentary or general-interest films produced for the Aluminum Company of Canada (or its successor, Alcan Canada Products) in the years 1951-1979. They depict the history, development and operations of the Kitimat project, including the Kenney Dam, the Kemano power plant, power transmission lines, Kitimat smelter, and the town and port of Kitimat. Four of these titles were made by Lew Parry Film Productions; two were produced by Crawley Films Ltd.

Aluminum Company of Canada Limited

Archaeology projects in British Columbia, 1972 : Simon Fraser University field school footage

The series consists of 9 reels of unedited footage shot by filmmakers working under an Opportunities For Youth (OFY) grant to document archaeological projects all over British Columbia. These 9 reels record the activities of Simon Fraser University archaeology field schools in the summer of 1972. Footage shows students travelling up the coast by boat (F1992:07/001); excavations, etc., at Kwatna (F1992:07/002-005) and Kimsquit (F1992:07/007-009); work in the SFU archaeology lab; and displays at the SFU Museum of Archaeology (F1992:07/006).

Work for Alcan, Kitimat; for Department of Public Works, Terrace. Construction: renovating small house, building large house. Description of house and garden. Easier for new immigrants now. Standard of living on Azores, emigration, getting ahead. Terrace in the late 1950s. D.P.W. work.
