A Christmas Carol

Item consists of a sound recording of a radio play by CJOR staff members Pat Burns, June Haslam, Dineen Grant, etc. with host and narrator R.J. McNicol. The recording was broadcast on December 26, 1987.

Audience : Mystery play of the Nativity

SUMMARY: "Audience" was an arts program presented from Vancouver. This episode, "Mystery Play Of The Nativity", is a play about the birth of Jesus Christ, fashioned from the mystery plays performed by the medieval guilds at Chester and York during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. This production, presented in Ryerson Church in Vancouver on 10 December 10 1980, was a version previously adapted for radio by Andrew Allan. The music is by Healey Willan and performed by the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra and instrumentalists conducted by Jon Washburn. The stage production was directed by Peter Haworth; the studio realization of Mr. Haworth's stage production was by Norman Newton and Bill Seebach.

B.C. folio : Christmas carols and Salvation Army

SUMMARY: A half-hour fantasy from Vancouver. A child, played by Olive Sturgess, falls asleep while listening to the radio. In her dream, she meets many of the people that she has heard to on the air. Betty Phi;llips plays the Christmas Fairy who brings the people from the radio to play her songs.;
