Biographical history
Royal Commission approved by Order in Council No. 944 appointed on the 25th day of August, 1937. Report dated September 7, 1937. Commissioner: Ridgway R. Wilson, mining engineer, of Vancouver. The commissioner investigated circumstances leading up to and surrounding the flooding of Beban mine at Extension, Vancouver Island on 11 June 1937. The commission attempted to determine if negligence on the part of mine officials or government inspectors had led to the flooding and the subsequent deaths of three miners.
