Biographical history
Appointed by Order-in-Council no. 2008, September 3, 1954. Commissioner: J.V. Clyne. Reports: February 2, 1955 and October 17, 1955. The Commission was appointed "to ascertain whether primary producers supplying milk to the Vancouver area were receiving from distributors the price for such milk as set by the Milk Board under the provisions of the Public Utilities Act and if they were not receiving such price, the reason for the violation of the Board order."

This series contains records relating to the Royal Commission on Milk. The commissioner, Supreme Court Justice J.V. Clyne, was appointed to determine investigate the price paid to milk producers and any other matters concerning the production, marketing and distribution of milk in the province. The records consist of proceedings, exhibits and miscellaneous files.

Immediate source of acquisition
The records were microfilmed by the Central Microfilm Bureau for the Legislative Library in 1958 and transferred from the Library to the Provincial Archives of BC in 1980. The location of originals is unknown.
