Shows crowds in grandstand; preliminary events (running and high-jump), and the featured 100-metre dash, in which Eddie Tolan (Michigan), George Simpson (Ohio), and 1928 Olympic gold medalist Percy Williams of Vancouver all break the world record. Tolan, the winner, poses. The athletes shake hands. Williams poses for camera.
