Journal

Microfilmed copy of journal kept at Fort St. John and Hudson's Hope containing records of trading supplies, company servants, outside traders and casual employees. Data includes quantities and qualities of furs traded together with the values of both the furs and the trade goods. Lists of supplies from Lesser Slave Lake plus costs and logistics of transporting them to the Peace River and the furs out are shown. Later, probably ca. 1927, blank and little used pages have been used for recipes.

The item is a film reel of out-takes from 1958. It contains footage of the royal visit by HRH Princess Margaret and centennial celebrations in BC. Footage includes: Victoria airport arrival and salute; drive into Victoria; arrival at Empress Hotel; drive from Victoria to Nanaimo up Malahat, stop at lookout; speech on steps of Parliament Buildings, Victoria; naval review, helicopter shots, crowds on shore; aerial views of Victoria from helicopter; granting of degree at UBC convocation; dome car on train; near Pattullo Bridge, New Westminster [?]; aerial view of Penticton [?]; church service at Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria; aerial shots (clouds); ceremony at Fort Langley; Williams Lake stampede; arrival at Fort St. John [?] and panning for gold.

Miscellaneous footage, reel 5

The item is a reel of film footage showing "Marie Smith installing package bees" which includes shots of workers in field with hives, honey factory and the federal experimental farm near Victoria, 1961. It also includes "Seed Fair at Fort St. John" which shows a bee display by the Dept. of Agriculture Extension Service and plaques being awarded, 1962.
