Name of creator
Godfrey Holloway was a writer, actor, radio and film producer, and public relations consultant. Born in Sussex, England, he was active in the stage and on radio in the Edmonton area in 1930-31. Back in England (1931-1951), he worked in the theatre (including London’s West End) and managed international radio stations. Returning to Canada, he set up the radio and TV department of a major advertising agency and produced TV commercials and industrial films.
Scope and content
The collection consists of 2 16 mm film reels and 1 35 mm film reel. The 16 mm reels include an excerpt from CBUT Vancouver's "Almanac" and footage of the Olde England Inn in Esquimalt. The 35 mm reel is footage of the Ripple Rock blast, 1958.
