This series consists of the records of the commission of Inquiry on Property Assessment, 1975-1976, including: exhibits, transcripts of evidence, minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, memoranda, working papers and statistics. Contains photocopies of files on assessment and taxation created by the Select Standing Committee on Municipal Affairs and Housing of the British Columbia Legislature.

This series consists of the records of the Commission on Provincial-Municipal Relations, 1946-1947. Commission records include Provincial Secretary file 145-23 which contains correspondence, vouchers and a copy of the Letters Patent appointing the commissioner; commission correspondence; transcripts of evidence presented; briefs; submissions; subject files; questionnaires on municipal finances and services; and the report. Proceedings were held in Victoria, Vancouver, New Westminster, Nanaimo, Prince Rupert, Prince George, Nelson, Trail, Kamloops and Kelowna.

This Commission was established by Education Minister, the Hon. William Vander Zalm in 1983 to examine school district operations, including administrative costs. Mark William Sager (Chairman) and Allan G. Stables were appointed as commissioners. Hearings were held in several BC communities but hearings were suspended when the provincial election was called. This collection includes the Interim Report of the Commission, the submissions, and the administrative files.

This Commission (also known as the Sager Commission) was established by Education Minister William Vander Zalm to examine school district operations, including administrative costs. Mark William Sager (Chairman) and Allan G. Stables were appointed as Commissioners. Hearings were held in Cranbrook, Castlegar, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Prince George. The hearings scheduled for Dawson Creek, North Vancouver, New Westminster, Surrey, Terrace, Campbell River, Nanaimo, Victoria, Chilliwack and Vancouver were suspended when a provincial election was called. The Interim Report of the Commission on School District Administrative Costs summarizes the mandate, commitment, findings and recommendations of Messrs. Sager and Stables; it is found in Box 1.

Commission records include the Provincial Secretary file P5 which contains correspondence, vouchers, and copy of Letters Patent appointing the commissioners; commission correspondences files; transcripts of evidence presented at the hearings; commissioners' notes; briefs; and reports.

This series contains Second Narrows Bridge inquiry records. The inquiry was appointed under the Public Inquiries Act by Order-in-Council no. 1466, June 18, 1958, to inquire into the collapse of the bridge on June 17. Sherwood Lett was the Commissioner. Records consist of proceedings, exhibits, and correspondence. The records also include Sanderson, A.B. Report on investigation and two volumes of the Commissioner's report.

The Commissioner, C.K. Clarke, M.D. of the Rockwood Asylum for the Insane (Kingston, Ontario), was appointed to inquire into all matters connected with the general administration of the Hospital for the Insane at New Westminster. Records include the Commissioner's 14 page report in which he called attention to certain administration defects and offered recommendations. He also noted advances and advocated changes in the treatment of patients.

This series consists of Exhibits, transcripts of evidence, synopsis of evidence, subject files, correspondence and indexes from the Royal Commission on the Incarceration of Female Offenders, 1977.

This series consists of the records of the Commission on the Incorporation of the City of Alberni, 1912. The commissioner, Thornton Fell, Victoria barrister and Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, was appointed 4 July 1912 to inquire into all matters concerning the proposed incorporation of the City of Alberni. Commission records consist of the original signed report, maps, exhibits, petition in favour of incorporation and evidence taken at the hearings.

This series consists of the records of the Commission on the Kelowna Police, 1929. Commission records consist of Letters Patent appointing the commissioner, transcripts of proceedings, exhibits, documents filed but not marked as exhibits, one Canadian Bar Review journal, and the report.

The series consists of the records of the Commission on the Labour Dispute at Burns and Company Limited,1937 under Judge J. Charles McIntosh, which investigated the labour dispute between Burns & Company of Vancouver and its employees. The records consist of correspondence and vouchers, transcripts of the proceedings, submissions, affidavits of discharged employees, exhibits and the final report.

This series contains records relating to the Royal Commission on Milk. The commissioner, Supreme Court Justice J.V. Clyne, was appointed to determine investigate the price paid to milk producers and any other matters concerning the production, marketing and distribution of milk in the province. The records consist of proceedings, exhibits and miscellaneous files.
