- Variations in title: This artwork was formerly titled: Indian Baby. The title was in place as early as 1961 and created by Provincial Archives of BC. See Newcombe Collection catalogue, 1962. North Vancouver Reserve was suggested in 1962 as possible locale for ID.
- Source of title proper: based on 1962 attribution of locale.
- Statements of responsibility: This work is in Emily Carr's hand and was in her studio at the time of her death, inventoried by the executors and stamped with the ink estate stamp.
