Oweekeno History Project : interviews : [collection documentation file]
SUMMARY: This collection consists of interviews with eleven people of Oowekeeno origin, which document some of the ethno-history and ethnology of the Oowekeeno people. The interviews were conducted by David Stevenson (sometimes in conjunction with bilingual members of the Oowekeeno Band) in 1976 and 1977. The project was funded by a grant from the Museum of Man (Ottawa). The collection consists of 26 tapes; or approximately 20 hours of recording. Added to this collection are transcripts of the English portion of each interview. The transcripts, together with the index information used in the finding aid, were produced by the Indian History Film Project based at the University of Regina. Item-level descriptions of the interviews themselves can be found under their individual call numbers.
