Item consists of audio recording in which Hazel Edwards and her daughter, Flo Bell, recall Emily Carr's last sketching trip to Mount Douglas Park in August 1942. Mrs. Edwards was proprietor of the Mount Douglas Tea House, and Flo helped carry Carr's art supplies, etc. Carr's week-long stay at the tea house during the sketching excursion. In an interview with Mrs. Edith Hembroff-Schleicher, Humphrey Toms describes his association with Emily Carr, particularly in the 1930s. Toms saw Carr's work in the 1932 Island Arts and Crafts Society show. Met Carr in 1933. Toms describes visits to Carr's studio (1933) and to her skecthing camps. Item consists of audio recording of interview with Madeleine Nation, in which she discusses Canadian artist/painter, M.A. Suzor-Cote. Nation discusses her first acquaintance with Suzor-Cote, their early friendship in Montreal, and Suzor-Cote's method of art and subject matter. Nation also describes her modelling experience for Cote's sculpture sessions, as well as Cote's temperament and approach to his work. Nation also talks about her instruction in art with Brimner in Montreal.

Consists of two audio recordings in which Madge (Wolfenden) Hamilton reminisces about her longtime friend, Emily Carr. She recalls the Carr family in the latter part of the 19th century in their James Bay homes, where they were friends with the Wolfendens. The first recording (T2708:0001) also covers Madge (Wolfenden) Hamilton's career as a public servant and librarian.
