Peas -- Fraser Valley, B.C.

The item is a reel of documentary film from the 1920s. "The film examines pea production, from rolling, cultivating, disking and fertilizing the field to crop dusting with a biplane, seeding and harvesting. Much of the field work is done with horses, some with a tractor. Peas are dumped onto a conveyor belt at a barn, mechanically shucked, poured into wooden boxes and sorted by girls in white caps. Cows in a field and being milked in a barn, probably at Frasea Farms. Men (Agriculture inspectors?) drink milk from bottles beside a car. A sign on the roof of the car reads Frasea Farms."
