The series consists of 64 film reels of stories or items (including out-takes from items) dealing with various aspects of agriculture in BC, produced for television broadcast by the Horticultural Branch of the B.C. Dept. of Agriculture, between 1959 and 1973. Topics include: cattle, chinchilla raising, diseases of plants, fruit-growing, fruit tree care, grain growing, insects, irrigation, mushroom growing, poultry raising, ranching, vegetable planting and harvesting, etc. The series was originally broadcast by CHBC-TV Kelowna, and later by several other stations as well.

A commentator describes the Agricultural Rehabilitation and Development Act (ARDA). The 'Ksan project: a First Nations village recreated near Hazelton. Campground and park for visitors. Longhouses. Splitting shingles, roofing. Malcolm Joseph [?] carving a totem pole; he describes and shows his work. Street scenes in village. Shop. A woman describes the figures modelled for the new museum, cast from actual people. Utensils and artifacts shown will demonstrate the traditional way of life. The many uses of cedar bark. The item consists of a reel of 16 mm film which includes the following:
A. Peach trees. Small child eats a peach. An agriculturist discusses methods of growing peach trees. Earlier trees are too tall; the best height for pruning, thinning and picking is an arm's length. Root stock. The distance between trees and rows of trees. Shaping trees with trained growth. This is the economic way to grow peaches commercially. (00:14:31)

The item consists of a reel of 16 mm film which includes the following:
A. The Buckskin Land Cattle Company, located west of Williams Lake, is owned by Mr. And Mrs. Rudi Johnson and their children. To shorten the trip to town from the ranch, they have built a bridge over the Fraser River. It is on private property, but is open for public use. They tell the story of the bridge, and discuss plans to increase the size of their cattle herd from 400-500 to 1,000-1,100. (00:10:08)
B. At the federal agricultural research station in Summerland, Dr. Milmore [?] and Dr. MacArthur discuss their discovery of a way to eliminate bloat in cattle through controlled feeding. (00:04:25)
C. B.C.'s southern interior is one of the driest places in Canada. Al MacLean, of the federal agricultural research station in Kamloops, explains how to increase rangeland grass production by resting the land or re-seeding it with the most suitable grasses. (00:03:50)

Sites for recording weather data. Research with forage crops -- alfalfa and clover. Research with grasses and legumes for seed production. The creeping red rescue plant developed at the station. Seed produced for Europe. Pollination by honey bees. Research with forage for pasture and hay production. A monument to agriculturist Dr. W.D. Albright, who established the station privately.
