The series comprises photographs relating to The Elgar Choir and choir director Charles E. Findlater. The photographs and albums record various trips and choir tours across Canada and overseas, circa 1936-1952.

Commonwealth friends Belfast - 1957 ; Tell me what master hand

SUMMARY: A label on the original box contains a photo and the words "Commonwealth Friends, Belfast - 1957". It does not seem that this is a concert recording, not that it was recorded in Belfast. It is of high quality, but there are several "drop-outs" on this particular tape. Duplicates of parts of this tape can be found on T4347:0004 - 4347:0006.

Collection relating to the Elgar Choir, of which Mr. Findlater was director. Guest books (4 volumes), 1949-1983; newspaper clippings, scrapbooks (8 volumes) 1935-1963, C.E. Findlater's diplomas and certificates, 1933 and 1939; concert programs; correspondence; adjudication forms; sheet music.

Charles Edward Findlater was the director of the Elgar Choir. MS-2534 consists of records relating to the Elgar Choir including guest books (1949-1983), newspaper clippings, scrapbooks (1935-1963), C.E. Findlater's diplomas and certificates (1933 and 1939), concert programs, correspondence, adjudication forms and sheet music.

Sound recordings were transferred to the Sound and Moving Image Division and catalogued as TAPE 4347:001-007 (audio tapes) and SD237:001-010 (audio discs). Photographs were transferred to Visual Records accession 199010-006.

Phonograph records and tapes transferred to SMID; photographs to Visual Records.
