This series contains correspondence, reports, and miscellaneous documents regarding financial grants to the City of Victoria Centennial Celebrations (1962), British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame (1968-1973), and the Vancouver Indian Centre Society (1963-1969).

This series contains water licences issued for Victoria Water District, 1909-1912, by W.S. Drewry, Chief Water Commissioner, pursuant to the Water Act, 1909. The records include water notices and approval of plans. This volume was also used by the Board of Investigation to make water rights determinations, ca. 1913-1914.

Records of interest in this series include minutes "relative to the Indian troubles on the Skeena River," from 1888.; dispatches, reports, and correspondence concerning the relocation of Songhees Indian reserve, 1893-1896. Series consists of one bench book for Colony of Vancouver Island Supreme Court of Civil Justice civil and criminal cases heard by Judge David Cameron at Fort Victoria from November 1853 to January 1856 and one criminal case at Nanaimo in May 1854. It also includes civil cases heard at Victoria in the Inferior Court of Civil Justice in 1856. The volume additionally served as a criminal record book for 1853, a cause book for 1856, and a Registrar's record book for 1853. It opens with a notation that Judge Cameron's commission was read and that he took his seat on 6 October 1853. The Registrar also notes that he received the court seal from Judge Cameron.

Financial records from Victoria's Supreme Court of Civil Justice. There is a receipt book, 1859-1964 recording payments made by Registrar Thomas G. William to suitors. The date, the number of the plaint, the "Full amount of judgment and costs" and/or the amount of cash received [pounds, shillings, pence] and the signature of the suitor receiving the money. In 1862 the format and handwriting changes. Registrar's account book, 1866-1970 showing daily entries of sheriff fees and court fees (in dollars and cents). A booklet of "Fees collected during the Circuit of 1870, 21 June to 26 August" marked Duplicate.

This series consists of 13 volumes of Victoria Sheriff court records, 1867-1898. Records include executions, process books, account books, auction book and a cash book. Records may relate to the Victoria County Court or Supreme Court.

The series consists of civil orders issued by the Supreme Court in Victoria between 1880 and 2008. Orders dating from 1880 until December 1946 were microfilmed and the originals destroyed. Records after this period are maintained in their original form. Many, but not all, volumes dating up to the late 1970s include nominal indexes. Orders are the formal expression of the ruling of the court. The records relate to a variety of civil matters including adoptions, divorces, and bankruptcies.

The records were scheduled for full retention under Court Services ORCS (schedule 100152) 51400-25.

This series contains Court of Appeal reasons for judgement.

The series consists of microfilmed copies of the Victoria Court of Appeal order volumes 2-7; 1915 to 1947 and bound order volumes 8-15 for the period 1948 to 1975.

The records consist mainly of orders in response to motions for leave to appeal lower court judgements and sentences, and include both civil and criminal matters. They are bound in folio number order by volume with a nominal index at the front of each volume.

This series contains cause books and indexes from the Victoria Court of Appeal.

This series contains Letters of Administration granted to the Official Administrator for estates probated in the Victoria Court Registry in cases where the deceased died intestate or did not name an executor who was able to act, and the Official Administrator handled the probate process. Indexes to Victoria probate records are found in GR-1417.

This series contains employment registers from the Victoria Gaol, 1861-1914. These volumes contain daily reports showing the prisoner's name, with or without labour, how/where employed and sometimes "remarks". The following Volumes are missing : 1 May 1900 - 16 Sep 1901 and 1 Feb 1903 - 14 Jun 1904. The final volume contains a notes that prisoners were transferred to Saanich Prison Farm on 12 Sep 1914.

This series consists of the records of the Victoria Gaol, 1859-1914. The 107 volumes include lists of prisoners, descriptions of prisoners, sentence books, work records, charge books, employment registers, registers of clothing issued, reports of prisoners' conduct, punishment books, gaolers' reports, duty rosters and daily diaries, ration books, food account books, stores and provisions account books, financial records, doctors' record books, medical order books, receipts and 1875 correspondence from the Superintendent of Police.

Records have been grouped by subject matter, then arranged chronologically when possible.
