Frank Swannell diaries

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell's diaries from 1906 to 1968. Photographs, notes, clippings and other material have been pasted into the diaries. The diaries cover various expeditions to areas of British Columbia as well as foreign tours and two relating to the Royal Canadian Air Force. There are also two diaries kept by Mrs. F.C. Swannell in 1947 and 1948 detailing the couple's trip to Europe.

Field books

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell field books of various BC expeditions from 1910 to 1943. Volume 65 which consists of the field book for the Bedaux Expedition is also on microfilm, reel A01285(5).

Illustrated journals

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell's illustrated journals created from 1900 to 1914 but including records from 1867. The journals are family records and include photographs, family trees, letters, certificates and other related material.

Miscellaneous bound volumes and scrapbooks

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell's miscellanous volumes and scrapbooks from ca. 1901 to ca. 1958 and includes account books, notes, a sketch book and scrapbooks containing clippings and postcards.

Subject files

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell's subject files from ca. 1851 to 1970 and includes notes, correspondence, clippings and maps. Some maps were transferred to the map division, see list in box 13, volume 77, folder 25.

Frank Swannell photographs

The sub-series consists of Frank Cyril Swannell's photographs albums and negatives from 1856 to 1966. These records were transferred to the Visual Records Unit and accessioned as 198002-017. The archives made interpositives of some of the negatives.
