The transcript contains 63 numbered entries, and whether the marriage was authorized by banns or license.

The file consists of a typescript extract or table (source unknown) of baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Victoria between 1859 and 1886. The file is number from p. 42-179, presumably following on from the previous register. Letter from Thomas J. Farnham to Secretary of War, Washington (copy)

The file consists a transcript copy of a letter from Thomas A. Farmham, dated January 4, 1840 at Oahu Sandwich Islands (Hawaii), to J.R. Poinsett, the Secretary of War in Washington. In it Farnham gives detailed information of the activities of the Hudson's Bay Company in Oregon Territory (present day Oregon and Washington). The letter is accompanied by a certificate issued by the Department of State on July 12, 1898, certifying that it is a true copy of a document from the files of the Department of State.

Letters to Catharine McDonald from J.A. McDonald

The file contains photocopies of three letters to Catharine McDonald of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, from her brother J.A, McDonald. The letters were sent from Olympia, Washington Territory, Fort Langley and San Francisco, and describe a gold mining expedition up the Fraser River in 1859. The file also contains transcript copies of the letters.

McGill University Library : Lande-Arkin Canadian Collection author cards

The file consists of photocopied author cards of the Lande collection.
The Lande collection, housed at Montreal’s McGill University, was acquired in 1965 and at that time comprised some 2300 items. Several further accruals were made between 1965 and 1975, and the Collection currently consists of 6800 items relating to the exploration and development of Canada.

The Arkin collection was purchased with Dr. Lande’s assistance in 1966. It comprises material relating to the settlement and development of the prairie provinces and the West during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
