The fountain from a previous Gems of British Columbia work is located in the bottom left and right corners. The Gems of British Columbia work attributed to 1892 is featured at the bottom centre of the composition which contain tiny versions of earlier Gem begonia works. This negative does appear to have been manipulated. There are details in pencil that include dots, markings that finish the shape of the smallest stars and markings that create branches with leaves or flowers drawn around babies located in the larger stars. These are drawn on the plate adding embellishment to the final image. The following text is present on the image: Gems of British Columbia 1893. Two tongs and the sides of a chair are visible, holding the framed work up to be photographed in an unknown location. A pillow or cushion can be seen behind the photographic work. It is attributed to being the Gem for 1893.
