The item is a photocopy of a typescript titled "A brief history of H. Durrell (Dec. 3, 1870 - Sept. 20, 1950)". It is a biography of Riske Creek Chilcotin rancher H. Durrell, by his son Jack Durrell (1919-1986), who succeeded his father as owner of the family's Wineglass Ranch.

Captain MacPherson grew up in the James Bay district of Victoria, went to sea on whale chasers and tugs, operated the M.V. Lady Rose during World War II, and from 1947 to 1962 served on the Kootenay Lake ferry Anscomb between Balfour and Kootenay Landing.

Account book for general supplies such as food, hay, clothing, shoes, tools, tobacco and drinks, paid for mainly by gold dust but also by cash and goods. Two customers identified, Captain Mitchell, Quesnelle Forks, and John Love, Richfield. Although the name Kamloops appears on the microfilm title page, there is no evidence to connect this manuscript with Kamloops.
The file consists of an unidentified account book (possibly Quesnelle Quartz Mining Co.) from 1879 to 1890. The book contains accounts of Quesnel area individuals and businesses.
